Our story
There’s something slightly intoxicating about physical books. The magic of running your hand over a cloth-bound book; exploring the secrets nestled within its pages. The feeling that you’re holding an entire universe in your two hands that exists only for you to enjoy.
This essence is our guiding light. So many beautiful hardcover books are abandoned, thrown away, or damaged everyday. The thought of these little universes lying in a landfill kills a little bit of our soul.
Thus, the mission for Everyday Bookish was born - to preserve and celebrate pre-loved, at-risk hardcover books.
Preserve & celebrate
We work with libraries, bookstores, and second-hand stores to source unwanted hardcover books that are nearing the end of their readable lives. Some of these books may be heavily damaged or worn, while others may be in great shape with only small imperfections.
Once acquired, each book is thoroughly cleaned and assessed. A heavily illustrated book may make a wonderful junk journal so we can preserve its illustrations. A gorgeously ornate cover may create a beautiful book safe. Each book’s characteristics determine how we ultimately preserve it.
Throughout our projects, we accumulate a lot of loose book pages! To honor all parts of each book, we actively reuse these pages to create decoupage home goods. We also use book pages in our packaging to further reduce our waste.
If you have any questions about how our products are made, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
